I would have thought that a true friend would be happy for your achievements and will wish you well when you have success. Is this true? I have a friend (for 20 years now) who always seems to be irritated when I get a chance to travel or get asked out. The fact is, I work on a contract basis, very hard, save and take long breaks. She has another lifestyle, more pay but needs to be home 12 months of the year with short vacation breaks. She seems to try to 'pull me down' to her level by a 'silent' reaction when I told her I'm thinking of travelling again or by mentioning that she could not date the guy I'm with (as he earns less then me). Does this mean she is not a true friend?Is this friend jealous of me? If she is, then does that mean she's not a true friend?
She is certainly missing something in her life.. she wants to get out sometimes and travel. I don't know if she is in a relationship? if not.. or if she is not in a serious relationship maybe she hopes that when you are on vacation you would travel somewhere with her.. or that you go on holiday together.. even if both of you have partners.. she probably would like all of you to go to a holiday destination together...She seems envious.. that she can't go.. Jealousy would mean.. she wants your guy.. envy means to envy you your ability to travel so much in your job... Jealousy is always about wanting the same man.
I think in order to find out for sure what is going on in her thoughts, you as her friend of 20 years should sit down with her, and just bring up this subject and ask her.. I have a best friend.. we have been best friends for 38 years.. I have known her since I was 9 years old and I will be 47 this year.. she is 2 years younger.. she was 7 and I was 9 when we became friends.. after such a long time of friendship I believe one can be absolutely honest with each other... I tell nobody as much about me.. not even my parents or my husband as my best friend knows about me.. she knows me better than everyone.. she tells me sometimes if she believes I did not behave as I should have done.. but she is more than a best friend and more than a sister to me.. and if I feel upset by something she said.. I can talk to her openly about it as well... you should ask her. If she is your friend, she will be honest with you.. to respect each other and to be honest with each other.. is very important in a friendship.. as it also is in a relationship with a man or in a marriage!Is this friend jealous of me? She is not your true friend. But this does not mean that you shouldnt talk to her and try to get her to understand that its her choices that got her where she is at.

Honey, the only real way that you are going to know this is by asking your friend. People forget to communicate and communication is the key to a healthy relationship. Try asking your friend how she is feeling about your succes, about you traveling and about the guy that you are dating.
Communication with a true friend should be easy and understandable and always sincere. Jealousy, greed and COMPETITION are the most hurtful in a relationship and you's want to eliminate these any chance that you get. You can do this by talking/communicating with your friends and acknowledging your feelings.
She is probably just hurting inside because she is not happy, don't take it to personally, she just needs some help is all. Be straight up with her and let her know your feelings, be careful with your wording though, you don't want to start a fight. Just let her know that you FEEL like she is acting in a jealous manner towards your succes and that you care about her and would not want her to be unhappy. Who knows, she might open up to you about things you did not even think were an issue, a lot of the time thats just it: there is an underlying issue that people don't talk about and they kind of beat around the bush. She lives a different lifestyle and could have resentment because you do what makes you happen. As they say we work to live we don't live to work. Taking those long breaks gives you time to relax and regenerate. You can work smart or dumb you my have a handle on it. You keep doing what you do and don't let anyone bring you down. My boy is also the traveling kind, He started reading when he was 5 and he not only dreamed but one summer when he was 16 came home with a plane ticket and said he wanted to travel during the summer. I had to think on this seeing how he was young and traveling alone, well it turned out I let him go praying I made the right choice, damn it was sink or swim. Turned out he handled it great hit something like 22 countries, shook hands with the Pope. He kept a journal of his travels if you care to see and you have an email I send the link. or email me, I hear all these kids moaning about being bored with nothing to do, well as you know it's all up to us what we do. He's now in second year at a University straight A's and in for a great journey. You don't change for anyone, you are right for you. Money is everyone's GOD---whether they realize it or not. Everything revolves around the things money can afford, both necessitities and luxuries. It is deceiving and alluring: a convincing taste of money through paltry wages has people wondering and dreaming what they'd do with loads of it if they landed the lottery! What nonsense---there are better odds of surviving a severe illness than winning the lottery (1: 14 billion +), yet this sort of dream about money will allow some a meaningful fantasy.
The true meaning of money is that it is god. No one admits it, but they hold money dear. Even the churches (tele-evenagelists especially) understand money is what gives them power. Joel Osteen, generally a feel-good pop psychology teleevangelist knows the power of psychology to create a cash flow. His empire and business brings in truckloads of money each year simply through the mail---a figure of over 30 million. In-house gatherings are 40 million plus. People are willing to give 5 bucks to 200 bucks a person because Joel makes them feel empowered to go and be successful (get more money). But it isn't money just flowing in that makes this man mega-rich. It's his mega-success books. People want the minister who knows psychology to brain wash them into success, $$$.
Money isn't bad, because apparently the church would deny money it it were evil. Rather, they encourage it and hoard it, yet speak ill of INDIVIDUALS who ';hoard'; it. They are against those who keep their hard earned money----kind of like the government or any huge institution of power. They want everyone to give and submit to their power.
While there is less wrong in giving it to the government for more or less expenditures of need (anyone can argue this one but let's let this one slide), the church is not a comparable provider of physical needs. Churches are themselves charities in need. I'd support Joel Osteen and empire (his family) if he would use/donate even 50% of his megachurch endowments and earnings for medical research for AIDS/cancer, or help feed the starving children. If he keeps just 1% of his income, that's already $700,000 of personal income just from people sending money in the mail and from the pews. This figure makes him already rich on just 1% of all that flow of money, besides the loads of money from his books! Don't you suspect anything fishy about this? Apparently, no one does and they just keep blindly sending because he helps them feel better. Osteen bathes in too much money for an evangelist. In the bible, it declares it as fact that it is more difficult for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven than for a camel to go through the eye of a needle. Well, we know the camels will never be able to do that. That means the rich man entering heaven is impossible. Osteen, what have you got to say? Any counterarguments?

The purpose of our lives is served through money for all kinds of transactions.

Back when I grew wheat and so did you . An i needed one of your pigs for I had none . What could I trade you for your pig ? You all ready had wheat so money was developed as a promissory note so that when you needed some thing and the other person needed none of what you had they would take the money . Knowing that the next person would do the same . Its the universal trade good .

Why do so many people misunderstand the true meaning of the term ';Son of God';?
So what is YOUR true meaning? I read a whole lot of stuff on this venue and different places that say different things--most that are contrary to what the bible actually does say. Seems that many religions tend to embellish the bible a bit or a lot, it is quite clear in the gospels who the son of god is, and his place, but that is not what many religions state or say.Why do so many people misunderstand the true meaning of the term ';Son of God';?

Nothing. Because KJV 1611 was not yet existing that time. What matters is not before KJV 1611 because the people back then are ALL dead. What matters is TODAY. KJV 1611 is the Authorized Version. God provided His Authorized Version during the time before KJV 1611, and He provided one today...KJV 1611.

The KJV was put together using earlier writings and was supposed to be the last and accurate interpretation. It doesn't mean that the earlier writings were necessarily inaccurate. So your question of ';everyone before'; the KJV being ';screwed'; is off kilter.
The ONLY reason the KJV 1611 was so popular and was regarded as ';true word of God'; is because King James was one of THE MOST POPULAR AND MOST POWERFUL leaders of the WORLD when it was declared The Authorized Version of the Church of England and was forced upon the US Colonies. The Real True Word of God is the original Hebrew, Greek and Aramaic manuscripts. Any other translation or version is close and if all you have is the NIV or NASV or ESV or KJV than that is still ok.
I must also add that NOBODY today can even read the original English of 1611. It was much different than today. So guess what? The KJV you have today is not the same as the original 1611 KJV.
the 1611 KJV is really only useful to reference the Strong;s Exhaustive Concordance.
Other than that, the KJV is not a very consistent translation.

The Holy Bible was around alot longer then the KJV. Notice is says 1611, that is the year it was produced.The first machine printed bible was in the 1500's(latter part) before then all bibles were in Latin and were hand written and very expensive and only the church had them.
When was the Old Testament compiled? Some would decide for about the year 430 B.C., under Esdras and Nehemiah, resting upon the authority of the famous Jew, Josephus, who lived immediately after the Our Lord, and who declares that since the death of Ataxerxes, B.C. 424, ‘no one had dared to add anything to the Jewish Scriptures, to take anything from them, or to make any change in them.’ Other authorities, again, contend that it was not till near 100 B.C. that the Old Testament volume was finally closed by the inclusion of the ‘Writings’. But whichever contention is correct, one thing at least is certain, that by this last date – that is, for 100 years before the birth of Our Blessed Lord – the Old Testament existed precisely as we have it now.
Of course, I have been speaking so far of the Old Testament, in Hebrew, because it was written by Jewish authority in the Jewish language, namely, Hebrew, for Jews, God’s chosen people. But after what is called the ';dispersion’ of the Jews, when that people was scattered abroad and settled in many other lands outside Palestine, and began to lose their Hebrew tongue and gradually became familiar with Greek, which was then a universal language, it was necessary to furnish them with a copy of their Sacred Scriptures in the Greek language. It is from this Version that Jesus Christ and the New Testament writers and speakers quote when referring to the Old Testament.
But what about the Christians in other lands who could not understand Greek? When the Gospel had been spread abroad, and many people embraced Christianity through the labors of the Apostles and missionaries in the first two centuries of our era, naturally they had to be supplied with copies of the Scriptures of the Old Testament (which was the inspired Word of God) in their own tongue; and this gave rise to translations of the Bible into Armenian and Syriac and Coptic and Arabic and Ethiopic for the benefit of the Christians in these lands. For the Christians in Africa, where Latin was best understood, there was a translation of the Bible made into Latin about 150 A.D., and, later, another and better for the Christians in Italy; but all these were finally superseded by the grand and most important version called the ‘Vulgate’ – that is, the common, or current or accepted Version. This was in the fourth century of our era. By this time St. Jerome was born, there was great need of securing a correct and uniform text in Latin of Holy Scripture, for there was danger, through the variety and corrupt conditions of many translations then existing, lest the pure scripture should be lost. So Jerome, who was a monk, and perhaps the most learned scholar of his day, at the command of Pope St. Damascus in 382 A.D., made a fresh Latin Version of the New Testament (which was by this time practically settled) correcting the existing versions by the earliest Greek MSS he could find. Then in his cell at Bethlehem, between (approximately) the years 392-404, he also translated the Old Testament into Latin directly from the Hebrew (and not from the Greek Septuagint) – except the Psalter, which he had previously revised form existing Latin Versions. This Bible was the celebrated Vulgate, the official text in the Catholic Church, the value of which all Scholars admit to be simply inestimable, and which continued to influence all other versions, and to hold the chief place among Christians down to the Reformation. I say the ‘official’ text, because the Council of Trent in 1546 issued a decree, stamping it as the only recognized and authoritative Version allowed to Catholics. ‘If anyone does not receive the entire books with all their pars as they are accustomed to be read in the Catholic Church, and in the old Latin Vulgate Edition, a sacred and canonical... let him be anathema.’ It was revised under Pope Sixtus V in 1590, and again under Pope Clement VIII in 1593, who is responsible for the present standard text. It is form the Vulgate that our English Douai Version comes; and it is of this say Vulgate that the Commission under Cardinal Gasquet, by command of the Pope, is trying to find or restore the original text as it came from the hands of St. Jerome, uncorrupted by and stripped of subsequent admixtures with other Latin copies.

The 1611 KJV was a great translation into english...mostly the other ones around were in Latin or Greek. When the english king threw out the roman catholic church (Henry Tudor) and made himself to be called the head of the holy catholic church, they needed a translation into english.
I think most bibles are accurate enough to lead you a point of purity and wsdom sufficient that you can ask the author himself.

KJV arguments are pretty silly when you get down to it. KJV is a translation from the Greek and Hebrew scripture - nothing more. It may have been a good translation at the time, but it's language is archaic by today's standards and as such miscommunicates what the Bible's intended meaning is in places. Though NKJV is not bad. I use NIV, but go straight to the Greek for serious indepth questions. I find that all the modern translations are pretty good and you only need to go to the Greek for nuances of meaning.

No u are not screwed God sent His Son (who is the Word of God) so that u could call on Him and He would place u in the Lambs book of Life.
Many people are confussed about the Bible, but just follow the creator and u will be fine.

Because, King James mastered all of the verses from the previous and breathed what the Lord wanted more to God word. As you see the previous ones before the King James they are simlilar but hard to understand.
Nothing. Because KJV 1611 was not yet existing that time. What matters is not before KJV 1611 because the people back then are ALL dead. What matters is TODAY. KJV 1611 is the Authorized Version. God provided His Authorized Version during the time before KJV 1611, and He provided one today...KJV 1611.

The KJV was put together using earlier writings and was supposed to be the last and accurate interpretation. It doesn't mean that the earlier writings were necessarily inaccurate. So your question of ';everyone before'; the KJV being ';screwed'; is off kilter.
The ONLY reason the KJV 1611 was so popular and was regarded as ';true word of God'; is because King James was one of THE MOST POPULAR AND MOST POWERFUL leaders of the WORLD when it was declared The Authorized Version of the Church of England and was forced upon the US Colonies. The Real True Word of God is the original Hebrew, Greek and Aramaic manuscripts. Any other translation or version is close and if all you have is the NIV or NASV or ESV or KJV than that is still ok.
I must also add that NOBODY today can even read the original English of 1611. It was much different than today. So guess what? The KJV you have today is not the same as the original 1611 KJV.

The Holy Bible was around alot longer then the KJV. Notice is says 1611, that is the year it was produced.The first machine printed bible was in the 1500's(latter part) before then all bibles were in Latin and were hand written and very expensive and only the church had them.
