true love is a high and holy principle altogether different from that love which is awkened by impulse and suddenly dies when severely tested. marriage instead of being the end of love will be it's beginning. Love in it's truest form can be expressed in giving for others. that is where it came from. It is GOD'S principle. because HE is the ONE WHO GAVE FIRST.

I would have thought that a true friend would be happy for your achievements and will wish you well when you have success. Is this true? I have a friend (for 20 years now) who always seems to be irritated when I get a chance to travel or get asked out. The fact is, I work on a contract basis, very hard, save and take long breaks. She has another lifestyle, more pay but needs to be home 12 months of the year with short vacation breaks. She seems to try to 'pull me down' to her level by a 'silent' reaction when I told her I'm thinking of travelling again or by mentioning that she could not date the guy I'm with (as he earns less then me). Does this mean she is not a true friend?Is this friend jealous of me? If she is, then does that mean she's not a true friend?

Turned out he handled it great hit something like 22 countries, shook hands with the Pope. He's now in second year at a University straight A's and in for a great journey. You don't change for anyone, you are right for you. What nonsense---there are better odds of surviving a severe illness than winning the lottery (1: 14 billion +), yet this sort of dream about money will allow some a meaningful fantasy.
The true meaning of money is that it is god. No one admits it, but they hold money dear. Even the churches (tele-evenagelists especially) understand money is what gives them power. Joel Osteen, generally a feel-good pop psychology teleevangelist knows the power of psychology to create a cash flow. His empire and business brings in truckloads of money each year simply through the mail---a figure of over 30 million. In-house gatherings are 40 million plus. People are willing to give 5 bucks to 200 bucks a person because Joel makes them feel empowered to go and be successful (get more money). But it isn't money just flowing in that makes this man mega-rich. It's his mega-success books. People want the minister who knows psychology to brain wash them into success, $$$.
Money isn't bad, because apparently the church would deny money it it were evil. Rather, they encourage it and hoard it, yet speak ill of INDIVIDUALS who ';hoard'; it. They are against those who keep their hard earned money----kind of like the government or any huge institution of power. They want everyone to give and submit to their power.
While there is less wrong in giving it to the government for more or less expenditures of need (anyone can argue this one but let's let this one slide), the church is not a comparable provider of physical needs. Churches are themselves charities in need. I'd support Joel Osteen and empire (his family) if he would use/donate even 50% of his megachurch endowments and earnings for medical research for AIDS/cancer, or help feed the starving children. If he keeps just 1% of his income, that's already $700,000 of personal income just from people sending money in the mail and from the pews. This figure makes him already rich on just 1% of all that flow of money, besides the loads of money from his books! Don't you suspect anything fishy about this? Apparently, no one does and they just keep blindly sending because he helps them feel better. Osteen bathes in too much money for an evangelist. In the bible, it declares it as fact that it is more difficult for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven than for a camel to go through the eye of a needle. Well, we know the camels will never be able to do that. That means the rich man entering heaven is impossible. Osteen, what have you got to say? Any counterarguments?

You all ready had wheat so money was developed as a promissory note so that when you needed some thing and the other person needed none of what you had they would take the money . Knowing that the next person would do the same . Its the universal trade good .

Why do so many people misunderstand the true meaning of the term ';Son of God';?
So what is YOUR true meaning? I read a whole lot of stuff on this venue and different places that say different things--most that are contrary to what the bible actually does say. The ONLY reason the KJV 1611 was so popular and was regarded as ';true word of God'; is because King James was one of THE MOST POPULAR AND MOST POWERFUL leaders of the WORLD when it was declared The Authorized Version of the Church of England and was forced upon the US Colonies. The Real True Word of God is the original Hebrew, Greek and Aramaic manuscripts. Any other translation or version is close and if all you have is the NIV or NASV or ESV or KJV than that is still ok.
I must also add that NOBODY today can even read the original English of 1611. It was much different than today. So guess what? The KJV you have today is not the same as the original 1611 KJV.

The Holy Bible was around alot longer then the KJV. Notice is says 1611, that is the year it was produced.The first machine printed bible was in the 1500's(latter part) before then all bibles were in Latin and were hand written and very expensive and only the church had them.

The 1611 KJV was a great translation into english...mostly the other ones around were in Latin or Greek. When the english king threw out the roman catholic church (Henry Tudor) and made himself to be called the head of the holy catholic church, they needed a translation into english.
I think most bibles are accurate enough to lead you a point of purity and wsdom sufficient that you can ask the author himself.

KJV arguments are pretty silly when you get down to it. KJV is a translation from the Greek and Hebrew scripture - nothing more. It may have been a good translation at the time, but it's language is archaic by today's standards and as such miscommunicates what the Bible's intended meaning is in places. Though NKJV is not bad. I use NIV, but go straight to the Greek for serious indepth questions. I find that all the modern translations are pretty good and you only need to go to the Greek for nuances of meaning.

No u are not screwed God sent His Son (who is the Word of God) so that u could call on Him and He would place u in the Lambs book of Life.
Many people are confussed about the Bible, but just follow the creator and u will be fine.
There are some good sites that explain how the original sacred manuscripts have been interpreted and expounded on and in translation lead to confusion.

';Thousands of people became Christians through the work of the Apostles and missionaries of Christ in various lands, and believed the whole truth of God as we believe it now, and became saints, before ever they saw or read, or could possibly see or read, a single sentence of inspired Scripture of the New Testament, for the simple reason that such Scripture did not then exist....'; OK, there were thousands, but the span of time was quite short that there were no ';New Testament'; scriptures. The first letters were written within about 15 years of the beginning of Christianity and all was completed within about 70 years of that date.
The 1611 KJV was a great translation into english...mostly the other ones around were in Latin or Greek. When the english king threw out the roman catholic church (Henry Tudor) and made himself to be called the head of the holy catholic church, they needed a translation into english.
I think most bibles are accurate enough to lead you a point of purity and wsdom sufficient that you can ask the author himself.

KJV arguments are pretty silly when you get down to it. KJV is a translation from the Greek and Hebrew scripture - nothing more. It may have been a good translation at the time, but it's language is archaic by today's standards and as such miscommunicates what the Bible's intended meaning is in places. Though NKJV is not bad. I use NIV, but go straight to the Greek for serious indepth questions. I find that all the modern translations are pretty good and you only need to go to the Greek for nuances of meaning.

I would have thought that a true friend would be happy for your achievements and will wish you well when you have success. Is this true? I have a friend (for 20 years now) who always seems to be irritated when I get a chance to travel or get asked out. The fact is, I work on a contract basis, very hard, save and take long breaks. She has another lifestyle, more pay but needs to be home 12 months of the year with short vacation breaks. She seems to try to 'pull me down' to her level by a 'silent' reaction when I told her I'm thinking of travelling again or by mentioning that she could not date the guy I'm with (as he earns less then me). She is certainly missing something in her life.. she wants to get out sometimes and travel. I don't know if she is in a relationship? if not.. or if she is not in a serious relationship maybe she hopes that when you are on vacation you would travel somewhere with her.. or that you go on holiday together.. even if both of you have partners.. she probably would like all of you to go to a holiday destination together...She seems envious.. that she can't go.. I think in order to find out for sure what is going on in her thoughts, you as her friend of 20 years should sit down with her, and just bring up this subject and ask her.. I have a best friend.. we have been best friends for 38 years.. I have known her since I was 9 years old and I will be 47 this year.. she is 2 years younger.. she was 7 and I was 9 when we became friends.. after such a long time of friendship I believe one can be absolutely honest with each other... I tell nobody as much about me.. not even my parents or my husband as my best friend knows about me.. she knows me better than everyone.. she tells me sometimes if she believes I did not behave as I should have done.. but she is more than a best friend and more than a sister to me.. and if I feel upset by something she said.. I can talk to her openly about it as well... you should ask her. She is not your true friend. But this does not mean that you shouldnt talk to her and try to get her to understand that its her choices that got her where she is at.

Turned out he handled it great hit something like 22 countries, shook hands with the Pope. Yes...of course you can...if you remember...Santa Claus...comes from Saint Nicolas.....who was a very nice person...and a good hearted Christian. It was a time...when if a young lady didn't have a dowry...she wouldn't be able to get married. Saint Nicholas...knew of a family that had three daughters and they were very poor. So when he saw the oldest not getting married...he tried to give a enough money to the father of the young lady..so she could marry...but the father wouldn't take the money..because of pride. So..Saint Nicholas threw a bag of gold.....into their chimney...and they found the gold and used it to marry off the oldest girl..who was slated to be sold into slavery as her father was unable to feed her. Saint Nicholas gave a bag of gold in a similiar manner for the next young lady..who was of marriagable age. By the time the third young lady was ready to marry...the father was trying to find out who it was who gifted the gold...so he would sleep near the fireplace...and sure enough in the wee hours of the morning...he heard a thump..and found the gold...he immediately ran outside trying to catch the person who threw the bag of gold...and found that it was Saint Nicholas.!

You need to let the Holy Spirit guide you in deciding what you listen to or see on television. The Holy Spirit is basically the Christian's conscience and will convict and guide us individually on what is right and wrong for us. You'll just feel it in your heart or gut if it's wrong for you. That does not necessarily mean it is wrong for someone else.

Hi there- Im glad that you are mature enough to think and ask questions like this. Really being a Christian means you are trying to be ';Christ like';. What you need to ask yourself is 1- Does listening to them change what you are trying to represent 2- Just because someone says they are Christian are they a good witness to that. Listening to them is a personal decsion but I did find some quotes from Amy Lee and crew a few years ago that at least say a little on their view of being consideerd a Christian bad. During a 2003 interview with Entertainment Weekly, Ben Moody stated, ';We're actually high on the Christian charts, and I'm like, What the f--k are we even doing there?';[8] This went against earlier sentiments by Moody that ';We hope to express in our music that Christianity is not a rigid list of rules to follow...'; and also ';The message we as a band want to convey more than anything is simple鈥擥od is Love.';[9] This has led to criticism of the band within the Christian community, even moreso given that the band themselves approved of the plan to distribute Fallen to the Christian market.[10] Terry Hemmings, CEO of Christian music distributor Provident, expressed puzzlement at the band's about-face, saying ';They clearly understood the album would be sold in these [Christian music] channels.';[11] Ex-vocalist and keyboardist David Hodges eventually left the band over the controversy, with other members stating that he had been pulling them in more of a Christian direction than Lee and Moody were comfortable with.
I think you should check out the lyrics to her music. It sounds like she has a very good grip on the spiritual alement of life. I also beleive she hs a firm grasp on what god means to her.
If someone tells you not to listen ask why. Ask them to give you one solid reason why you should not hear someone else's point of view. I find most organized religion controlling in their do, do not do. Decide for your self. be all that you can be, the greatest challenge of them all.... yourself.
I am christian and I believe you can listen to any music that you believe is good for your spirit. I mean if Madonnas song jump motivates you to get up early in the morning and go for a jog than great,(works for me!). If Evanescence helps you to deal with an emotion that you know you are feeling but dont know how to express it then listen to it. I listen to music that does not offend anyone or god. Evanescence are a good band, some of their music is quite beautiful,(immortal me). Just because you love god does not mean that you should only listen to Hill Song. For example- you may be having a bad day and after praying still feel like you need a physical release- headbang to that song - you are not hurting anyone. As long as it is not offensive to anyone or to god, and it doesn't make you feel in any way unwholesome-(for lack of a better word), then it is a gift from god- as many things are.
i dont think amy lee calls herself gothic. but her band evanescense is labelled gothic rock or something like that.
Amy Lee isn't really gothic- maybe her style of clothing is but her style of singing isn't. She has a very light voice(some even say it opera or christian) with a 'rock' band to back it up. The contrast makes for some amazing music- and is appropriate for anyone.
Yeah she's an awesome singer, better than alot. ';gothic'; I think is a form of expression, of art. Its not BAD, and no her songs are not gothic. I think you'll be safe. If you enjoy her songs, you obviously have good taste.

First let me say it is great to hear that you are picky about what you listen to. That shows a great deal of maturity in your faith.
Phillipians 4 tells us what we should think on. I think that is a great way to measure what we should watch on TV and in movies, and listen to as far as music and comedy. If it is something that encourages your walk with Christ then great. If it is something that condemns Christ, his followers and his values it might be something to avoid.
the only bad songs to listen to are the ones that promote killing, random sex, homesexual sex, and things along those lines. i dont know any song by evanescence that falls into those categories. there is a difference between goth and satanic. they are alright to listen to
Evanescence is basically a Christian band. I couldn't see why you couldn't listen to it, it certainly doesn't go against your faith. It's only for commercial purposes that they don't mention Jesus in their songs. But you could easily imagine if they did, the songs always sound like they're missing that part if you listen closely.

During a 2003 interview with Entertainment Weekly, Ben Moody stated, ';We're actually high on the Christian charts, and I'm like, What the f--k are we even doing there?';[8] This went against earlier sentiments by Moody that ';We hope to express in our music that Christianity is not a rigid list of rules to follow...'; and also ';The message we as a band want to convey more than anything is simple鈥擥od is Love.';[9] This has led to criticism of the band within the Christian community, even moreso given that the band themselves approved of the plan to distribute Fallen to the Christian market.[10] Terry Hemmings, CEO of Christian music distributor Provident, expressed puzzlement at the band's about-face, saying ';They clearly understood the album would be sold in these [Christian music] channels.';[11] Ex-vocalist and keyboardist David Hodges eventually left the band over the controversy, with other members stating that he had been pulling them in more of a Christian direction than Lee and Moody were comfortable with.
I think you should check out the lyrics to her music. It sounds like she has a very good grip on the spiritual alement of life. I also beleive she hs a firm grasp on what god means to her.
If someone tells you not to listen ask why. Ask them to give you one solid reason why you should not hear someone else's point of view. I find most organized religion controlling in their do, do not do. Decide for your self. be all that you can be, the greatest challenge of them all.... yourself.
I am christian and I believe you can listen to any music that you believe is good for your spirit. I mean if Madonnas song jump motivates you to get up early in the morning and go for a jog than great,(works for me!). If Evanescence helps you to deal with an emotion that you know you are feeling but dont know how to express it then listen to it. I listen to music that does not offend anyone or god. Evanescence are a good band, some of their music is quite beautiful,(immortal me). Just because you love god does not mean that you should only listen to Hill Song. For example- you may be having a bad day and after praying still feel like you need a physical release- headbang to that song - you are not hurting anyone. As long as it is not offensive to anyone or to god, and it doesn't make you feel in any way unwholesome-(for lack of a better word), then it is a gift from god- as many things are.
i dont think amy lee calls herself gothic. but her band evanescense is labelled gothic rock or something like that.
Amy Lee isn't really gothic- maybe her style of clothing is but her style of singing isn't. She has a very light voice(some even say it opera or christian) with a 'rock' band to back it up. The contrast makes for some amazing music- and is appropriate for anyone.
Yeah she's an awesome singer, better than alot. ';gothic'; I think is a form of expression, of art. Its not BAD, and no her songs are not gothic. I think you'll be safe. If you enjoy her songs, you obviously have good taste.
Uhhh. Evanesance is a Christian band. So.. I think you don;t have a problem.
Also, not accepting people because they are gothic or dress differently is a distincly non-christian thing of you to do. Jesus told his followers they were not allowed to judge others. Only love.

First let me say it is great to hear that you are picky about what you listen to. That shows a great deal of maturity in your faith.
Phillipians 4 tells us what we should think on. I think that is a great way to measure what we should watch on TV and in movies, and listen to as far as music and comedy. If it is something that encourages your walk with Christ then great. If it is something that condemns Christ, his followers and his values it might be something to avoid.
the only bad songs to listen to are the ones that promote killing, random sex, homesexual sex, and things along those lines. i dont know any song by evanescence that falls into those categories. there is a difference between goth and satanic. they are alright to listen to
Evanescence is basically a Christian band. I couldn't see why you couldn't listen to it, it certainly doesn't go against your faith. It's only for commercial purposes that they don't mention Jesus in their songs. But you could easily imagine if they did, the songs always sound like they're missing that part if you listen closely.
